Frequently asked questions:
What kind of clothes should I wear?
Clothes that gives you an ease of movement, shoes with sturdy soles (not flip flops and shoes like that). If you have long hair it needs to be in a braid or ponytail, so it wont get stuck somewhere on the track. You can also bring gloves or buy a pair from us. You are not forced to wear gloves, and can easily go through the tracks without them, but they are nice to have. For safety reasons you will wear a helmet provided by us.
What to do if it is raining?
If it rains you just have to wear waterproof clothing, simple as that! The leaves gives you a nice cover in the trees. Only strong wind or a thunderstorm can close down the track. If that happens we will contact you and figure out another day for you to climb.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
You’re welcome to! We have an area with tables and benches where you can eat your own food. We sell drinks and snacks in our little kiosk. You can also grill your own food on our grills.
Can I buy food?
Before or after you have climbed you can grab something to eat in our pancake house. We recommend that you reserve a table by phone, +45 74698927. For more information you can visit www.gennerhoel.dk. Here you can also find the opening hours for the restaurant.
How many hours can I climb?
You can climb for four hours. It is possible to get through the for different tracks during that time, and if you haven’t used up every muscle in your body, you might be able to get through them once or twice more.
Can I take a break during the four hours?
Yes, of course. It can be physically hard to get through all of the tracks, so you might need a small break between the tracks. Please notice that the breaks you take are a part of the four hours of climbing.
Can I eat, drink, use the toilet or smoke while wearing the climbing gear?
No, neither of the above is allowed. If you have to do one of the above listed things, you have to take of your gear while you do it. Remember, an instructor needs to check if your gear is securely fastened before you go out on the tracks again!
What do I do if I can’t come?
If you can’t come to the time you have booked, call or e-mail us. It has to be at least 48 hours before you were supposed to come climb, and we will get you a new time. We do not refund the ticket. If you contact us less than 48 hours in advance, we’re sorry. We can’t help you. Remeber, call at least 48 hours before, to change the day you want to climb.
If I don’t want to climb, do I have to pay?
No. You only have to pay, if you want to climb. If you, for example, have a child that wants to climb, you are more than welcome to keep an eye on them from the ground. If you just doesn’t have the courage or want to climb, you are also welcome to wait.
Do you take card payments?
Yes, we take all ordinary cards. You might have to be sent up to the restaurant to pay, but it’s only 100 metres away, and therefore isn’t a problem.
How long does it take?
It varies greatly. If you have tried it before, you might be able to do all four tracks in an hour. For most beginners all tracks can usually be done in 2,5 – 3 hours. You are welcome to do your favourite tracks again, as long as you don’t use more than four hours climbing.
Do I need to book in advance?
We recommend that you book in advance. If we have room for you it is possible to book and pay in the park. It is not possible to book a time from home and climb the same day. You need to book at leaast the day before you want to climb, if you book from home. You can call us and hear if we have space for you.
Is it safe to climb around in the trees?
Don’t worry, it’s completely safe! Furthermore you get an instruction before you’re let loose. You have to follow the instructors instructions at all times.
Can you throw a bachelor/bachelorette party?
Yes, you are allowed to hae a party in the woods. Be advised that it isn’t allowed to climb while being under the influence of alcohol, so it might be a good idea to do it at the start.
Is it possible to buy gift certificates?
Yes, it is possible. You buy the certificate in our webshop and chooses the amount you want the certificate to be in and pays with your card. Afterwards we send you a pdf-file, which you just have to print out at home and give away to the recipient. When the recipient wants to use the certificate, he or she just uses our booking system. On the certificate there is a unique code, which just needs to be typed in to be used as payment, either fully or partially.
Is it possible to buy season tickets?
Unfortunately not yet. We’re working on it though, and as soon as it is available, we will let you know.
